Resident Professor, College of Europe

Odeta Barbullushi (PhD, University of Birmingham, United Kingdom) is a foreign policy expert, academic and former diplomat. She currently holds the position of Resident Professor at the College of Europe, the newly established Tirana campus.

Dr Barbullushi has a decade-long experience in policymaking. Before joining the College of Europe, she held the position of Sherpa and Advisor of the Albanian Prime Minister on EU integration and Regional Cooperation. In that capacity, she was responsible for the regional cooperation agenda, Albania’s bilateral relations with neighboring countries as well as for the preparation of regional and EU-Western Balkans Summits. From 2015 to 2019, Dr Barbullushi served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chief of Cabinet to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania. Prior to her work in government, Dr. Barbullushi was a full-time Lecturer and Vice Rector for Research at the European University of Tirana.

Odeta’s current research focuses on the interplay between Reform and Growth Plan for the Western Balkans and regional cooperation, regional cooperation in the security and political domain in Southeast Europe and well as Albania’s foreign policy.
